Sudha Chandran who is currently playing a negative role in 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein” and has acted in films like Naache Mayuri on her success story after bouncing back in life in spite of leg amputation is a woman with great strength.
The actress has inspired many with her story of grit and determination, after her right foot had to be amputated in June 1981 in an accident. Earlier, the state government of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal had put her life experiences in their textbooks. She said, elatedly, “Usually, one gets a place in a textbook, posthumously. But in my case, the state governments of so many states, including Maharasthra have put my story in their textbooks. Even the CBSE syllabus has my life story. I also learnt that a chapter has been dedicated to my life in a management skill programme. I am thankful to all the state governments, who have given me this respect. I will not just be a reel-life heroine, but a real-life one, too.”
Sudha doesn't want to write an autobiography on her life. She says, “Frankly, I would never like to write an autobiography because my life is an open book. The accident was a black patch in my life. But today, I am happy that I have overcome that with my perseverance and patience. The accident caused a lot of unhappiness in my life, but I was determined to bounce back. I am glad I managed to do that and have became a role model to so many people.”While TV and films are her first love, the seasoned actress has also dabbled in theatre with the play titled Kuch Meetha Ho Jaye, in which she essays the role of a superstar. She says, “I am also dancing in the play. We have got a warm response.”
