Suniye Sam Bahadur Sahab, aakhir Meghna Gulzar aap par biopic bana hi rahi hai

It was very exciting when Meghna Gulzar anounced her decision to make her biopic on Field Marshal S H F J Maneckshaw , the Parsi boy who wanted to be a gynaecologist and life took him to the army where he with his courage and confidence rose to become the Field Marshal who was largely responsible for India winning the war against Pakistan which led to the creation of a new country called Bangladesh - All Peter John

His life , his exploits in the battlefield and his clever strategies and maneuvers and his relationship with his soldiers and senior politicians , especially the then Prime Minister Mrs Indira Gandhi and the then Defence Minister ,V K Krishna Menon and other senior politicians make for very exciting reading in all the books written about him , but watching his extraordinary life on celluloid will I am sure be an experience worthy enough to wait for .

Meghna who has directed films like "Talwaar" "Raazi" and "Chappak" is perhaps the ideal director to make this ambitious film and she has already done all the home work it needs to make an ambitious and sensitive film like this .

And what is very interesting to know is that Vicky Kaushal was her first choice to play the role of the Field Marshal .

Meghna has made two other films after she had announced her film on Maneckshaw . And the interesting part of the project is the title which Meghna has now finalised .

The title finally is " Sambahadur" as the Field Marshal was known in his Dogra Regiment . We will have to wait and see what Meghna will go out to do to make a realistic film on one of the greatest icons of the last hundred years .
