"Sunny and sunshine,"  perfectionist mega-star  Shahid Kapoor captioned his Instagram  post, referring to his grey-shades scheming yet lovable  character of “Sunny”  from his recent OTT debut 'Farzi' ( on Amazon Prime Video) recently released dark-crime thriller Farzi (means ‘fake’ or ‘counterfeit’ ) continues to break and set new records  and benchmarks. In the OTT zone.  After 14 days of its release, the Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi , Raashii Khanna , Kay Kay Menon, Amol Palekar  and  Zakir Hussain  OTT starrer original series Farzi has ranked at number One  (Top Position)  among the Prime Video shows globally, based on overall online engagement.  Created by  genius-duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK,  the slick suspense crime-thriller  genre-defying Farzi ( based on the mafia lobby printing, minting and circulating fake currency)  has been receiving  fabulous responses from Indian and global viewers audiences and critics alike . For being  fast-paced ,edgy and starting a new genre in dark comedy. Originally ‘Farzi’ was to have been made as a big-screen feature-film, but destiny seems to have hijacked it into the OTT web-zone.

The super-hit fabulous response for his amazing performance  as the grey-shades scheming yet lovable character ‘Sunny’  ( in ‘Farzi’ ) is like a Birthday Gift for Shahid Kapoor  who will be celebrating  his 42^nd birthday  on Saturday –February 25^th.  As is his annual  sentimental tradition,  Shahid Kapoor will be celebrating his birthday with his family his wife Mira-Rajput-Kapoor his two kids (Misha and Zain)  and other family members and  few  close friends as he had told me  when I had met him. Currently, Shahid is shooting for an upcoming untitled romantic comedy movie opposite Kriti Sanon which has him  playing an impactful  lead role with legendary co-stars Dharmendra and Dimple Kapadia,

It was in the recent news-buzz that Shahid  is expected to be playing a double role in a new comedy movie directed by super-hit director Anees Bazmee . When contacted, Anees  disclosed that he was currently very busy “only writing his scripts and  no lead cast was finalized as of now for any movie”. However he added that “ I share a friendly  bonding  with Shahid-bhai and being such a brilliant actor I would love to work with him someday in future.  My next project will be an action-comedy. Only after  my written-script is ready the casting would be decided.

Like his acclaimed actor-director father Pankaj Kapoor, even versatile Shahid Kapoor is well-versed  in  world cinema.   Like Shahid had told me, “In world  cinema, grey multi-layered characters backed by slick performances have always emerged memorable,  like mine in  both ‘Kabir Singh’ and ‘Haider’,” shrugs  the ‘Padmaavat’ hero.  Does the witty Kapoor  wish to share a message to his fans and cine-goers. “ One has to channelize all kinds of negative emotions and transform them into positive. Else they can be devastating and--- being jilted ( betrayed in love)  is one of them,” he signs off.
