Dev Anand the great actor of his time, even when he is not present with us anymore, we still can’t stop praising him and his acting in the film. His career of six decades which he made more than 100 films speaks itself about his stardom. He was the greatest and most successful actor in the history of Indian cinema.
Joshila was a Bollywood thriller film, released in 1973, the film was directed by Yash Chopra and produced by Gulshan Rai. This film was inspired by a novel by James Hadley Chase. The film starred Dev Anand, Hema Malini, Rakhi, Pran, Bindu, Madan Puri, and many more.
The story starts with Dev Anand (Amar) in jail where he meets Shalini (Hema Malini) a poetess, and when Shalini asks him if he is also a poet he replies “No I am a murderer”. In the night Amar was singing a very sad song ‘kiska rasta dekhe’ in memory of her lover Sapna (Rakhi) and the moments he spent with her. Shalini heard his voice and she asked the jailer who was singing this, he told her about Amar. She became intrigued to meet him. And when she meets him she asks him the reason why he is behind bars. When he explains to her the reason for his being behind bars. She knew that he couldn’t kill someone and she was hell-bent on getting him out of prison. While getting to know him they had some beautiful moments and got attracted to each other. The story revolves around another murder was friend of Amar whom he met in prison and in this Amar was again accused of it. It was the typical 90s film so Amar's mother got kidnapped by the goons and he went to fight them and brought his mother safe. The story was a happily ever after, as it was made by the romance king ‘Yash Chopra’.
The famous dialog of the film was “main tera khoon pi jaunga”.
At that time when the film was released people had a mixed reaction to it, they loved the songs of the film which were sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle.
