The latest celebrity who has decided to shift lock, stock and barrel from his house in Yari Road, Andheri to a place called Sioliam by the sea. Says Surinder Pal Singh, who had essayed the role of Dronacharya in Mahabharat and Kilvish in Shaktimaan, “Mumbai is worst nowadays and I feel Goa is much better place to stay than Mumbai and hence I shifted to Goa temporarily every since the coronavirus set in and the lockdown was announced by the government in Mumbai and elsewhere. I get up early to look at the sea and do my pranayams and yoga and then jog in then garden next to my villa or walk by the sea inhaling fresh air and then do my daily exercisesBesides Surinder Pal Singh, filmmaker Anand Gandhi, who had directed the film Ship of Theseus and was the creative director and writer-producer of the film Tumbbad, also had shifted his work base to Goa from Mumbai.
“Exactly two years ago, I set up a work space in an isolated spot at Bambolim in Goa. The property is on two acres of land situated on a hillock and my entire team consisting of my writers, editors, sound designers and cinematographers has been staying and working from there. Frankly, I did not set this place up foreseeing this crisis but it definitely helped us during this phase. While the rest of the world hit the pause button during the lockdown, I feel that I am lucky to be in the lap of nature with my team”, says Anand Gandhi.
While Surinder has sent me the video of his new temporary abode in Goa which makes me feel like spending a week-end with my friend there and adds that he was feeling very uneasy while being at the crowded Yari Road in Mumbai and commuting for work to the farther nook of the city ands suburbs, in Goa he is at peace with himself and breathing fresh air and enjoying being a intrinsic part of the nature”. Anand on the other hand says that his work model has grabbed the attention of many from Bollywood. “I believe that a lot of creation happens in a great peer environment. I have not come across a single person from the fraternity, who has not expressed a desire to work in such a creative atmosphere. They all love the idea”, he has been quoted in Bombay Times recently.
