Susheel Jangira Comes Up With a Thought Provoking Film on Hygiene Among Beggar Women

Model turned documentary maker Susheel Jangira, who has produced and directed a gripping and soul stirring documentary movie on the pertinent problem of bleeding and menstrual hygiene among the poor female beggars today.

Says Susheel, who I remember had met for the first time at a press conference at the Hotel Oberoi Towers when the twin towers were demolished several years ago.

" I consider myself a born writer-director and I believe intently in the “POWER OF PEN” and the “IMPACT OF CINEMA”.

There are a lot of films being made on menstruation but nobody cares about beggar women, how they deal with their periods living on the streets.

They deal with usual hardships like hunger, on top of that personal hygiene and periods, nothing can be so hard and harsh on being a woman.

She Shot throughout the whole year in different parts of India

I shot for days and months throughout the whole year to capture extreme summers and winters in different parts of India.

This black & white film represents the dark, dull and dirty (unhygienic) life of homeless beggar women in India.

For menstruation bleeding they still have to deal with, while sleeping on roads. It’s very easy to say that we will rather be clean than being full but bhookhe pet bhajan bhi nahin hote toh saaf safai kahan se, means-Culture of cleanliness is nothing in front of hunger.

Nothing is bigger than hunger. Hunger is the prime center of all living beings on this planet. PERIOD.

She is a very passionate and Multi Talented girl

Also a TV Anchor, Actor, Lyricist, Writer & Director , Susheel, with her Army background and upbringing is a true fighter – fighting and striving to have her own unique voice through Cinema.

She have been on TV Channels such as Zoom, Star Sports, ESPN, Zee Zing, DD as an Anchor, participated in Fear Factor (Khatron Ke Khiladi) season 3.

Walked the ramp for all the known fashion designers in the country and have done few music videos and now making her debut in a Hindi Feature Film titled “NANGE PAAON” as the main protagonist, where she has penned the script and the songs also.

Along with acting and anchoring she has the passion & unique talent for writing songs, scripts and directing short films.

Her first Short Film- " MERI ROCKSTAR WALI JEANS ” (Rocking My Rockstar Jeans) on a sensitive topic regarding “Girl Child” won many National and International Film Awards and FEED OR BLEED INDIA, is her second project which is an eye opener for the uninitiated.
