Taarif-pey-taarif for ‘Bad Boy’ ! Audience appreciation of massy content, matters most than ‘box-office’ figures, “ insists dir. Raj Kumar Santoshi --- by Chaitanya Padukone

Eminent composer, excellent guitarist Raju Singh is all praise for 'Bad Boy' movie director Raj Kumar Santoshi. Shares Raju, who has done the impressive back-ground score for 'Bad Boy'. "Raj-Sir always had and has a fantastic music sense for both songs and background music. This time in 'Bad Boy' he got the best out of me . Always balancing the light-comedy, up-tempo with the romantic and emotional scenes, Raj-sir make the audiences fall in love with his screen characters. Even before the music is recorded and mixed, he diligently listens to the music pieces to check the audio-visual blend. Both the lead pair Namashi & Amrin are such amazing actors, that I had to underplay the music score for their scenes," says Raju Singh who has worked previously with Santoshi in several movies including 'Phata Poster Nikhla Hero'. The catchy melodious songs of 'Bad Boy' are composed by the acclaimed Himesh Reshammiya.

At the success- celebration party ( last night) of their ‘Bad Boy’ Hindi movie, promising upcoming stars movie hero Namashi Chakraborty and heroine Amrin Qureshi seemed thrilled with the fabulous response they have been getting ever since their debut-movie released last Friday.   Enthused  Namashi , “ It’s so overwhelming that our ardent fans,  theatre audiences and film-critics have all loved our  ‘Bad Boy’ movie . There is a frequent flow of  genuine appreciation ( taareef-pey-taareef ) from everyone who has watched the movie directed by genius Raj Kumar Santoshi-Sir,”  In fact, acclaimed veteran director Mahesh Bhatt-saab said that  ‘nobody will say that this is your first debut film—you both are so good,”  says an excited Namashi who is considering several new offers , “ After ‘Bad Boy’ I wish to play contrasting lead roles, ideally different from what  I  have just played,” says Namashi who disclosed that he is flying off to Los Angeles (USA)  for some assignment discussion and also to take a break from Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Raj Kumar Santoshi  ( remember his movie ‘Damini’  which had  ‘lawyer-character’ Sunny Deol’s famous dialogue ‘Taarikh Pey Taarikh’ says that he is extremely happy with the fantastic positive response for ‘Bad Boy, content-wise, music-wise and performance-wise . “ Leave aside the box-office figures. What matters most to me and my cast and crew is the genuine public praise and appreciation to our honest, diligent, creative, innovative efforts in ‘Bad Boy’ with its massy entertainment content. Everyone should encourage and wholeheartedly support new promising talent and their movies . Audiences and the cine-trade should not restrict their support only to movies featuring mega-stars. Which quite often fail to impress the audiences, as has been observed over past so many years,” says Santoshi who is currently working on his next historical mega-movie ‘Lahore -1947’ featuring Sunny Deol.
