Taboola Releases Most Read Oscar Nominees

Taboola, the world’s leading discovery platform, today released the readers engagement analysis of the nominees for the 92^nd Academy Awards popularly known as Oscar Awards.

On Sunday, Feb 9th, the 92nd Academy Awards will take place in Los Angeles, California, where entertainment’s top performers will compete to take home an Oscar.

From the day the nominees were announced in January 2020, Taboola, the world’s leading discovery platform, analyzed more than 265 million page views among 116 million readers and found:

• Joker is the #1 most read about nominee for best picture with more than 20 million readers. It is followed by The Irishman, Jojo Rabbit, Little Women, and Parasite.
• Leonardo DiCapriois the #1 most read about nominee for best actor, with more than 35.8 million readers, followed by Joaquin Phoenix, Antonio Banderas, Adam Driver, Jonathan Pryce.
• Scarlett Johanssonis the #1 most read about nominee for best actress, with more than 17 million readers, followed by Charlize Theron, Cynthia Erivo, Saoirse Ronan, Renee Zellweger
• Martin Scorsese is the #1 most read about nominee for best director, with 14.3 million readers, followed by Quentin Tarantino, Todd Phillips, Sam Mendes and Bong Joon Ho

Taboola also looked at the effect of winning the Best Picture Oscar in 2019 had on “Green Book.” We found that on the day after the Oscars, Green Book saw a 55x increase in readership online.
