Tanisha Mukherjee remembers those days very much, shares a heart touching story

Beautiful and talented actress Tanisha Mukherjee took out some time from her usual busy schedule during Diwali to celebrate the festival with family and close friends. With this she got lost in the old memories of her childhood Diwali. . The actress during a conversation, said ,“My favorite and most heart-touching Diwali memory is from my childhood when our mother (the famous actress of her time Tanuja) used to take us to Lonavala to celebrate Diwali because we had a house there. The house there was very beautiful and had a garden and this definitely meant that we got ample space to burst crackers in the courtyard and celebrate. Those days were really a lot of fun. Mother would light the lamps, we children would have fun in the garden, burst lots of crackers, but we did all this in our big open courtyard so that no one would face any problem.

We all took care that no animal or bird faces any problem. As far as things are concerned now, the way of celebration has changed. Now, it is limited to just relaxing with family and close friends and enjoying delicious dishes and being with favorite people. I don't even indulge in Diwali-special shopping as I really believe in reusing, recycling and restyling as it is very important for the environment. I love wearing old sarees of my mother and my dear sister Kajol (famous actress Kajol), and she keeps sending them to me. I believe that if we take care of our clothes, we can wear them for a long time. Apart from this, I also buy gold and utensils on Dhanteras as it is a part of our family tradition. I believe in the traditions of my country and the spiritual part of Diwali is very beautiful. Every year, I celebrate Diwali with my family but this year, I am here on the sets of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. So, this year I celebrated Diwali on the sets of Jhalak dikhla ja and thus it was a mix of Diwali celebration and work.

I definitely miss all my family members, relatives, friends on Diwali if I am away from them. Also, on Diwali I always give a message to everyone and this time too I had given the message that please avoid firecrackers. The festival can also be celebrated with just lights, decorations, mingling, preparing sweets and various dishes, distributing them and relishing these delicacies and enjoying them with the people around you. Like every year, this year too I had appealed, “Let us ensure that we do not harm the environment through mindless pollution, which causes severe suffering to stray animals and birds.” It's been many years since I stopped using crackers so I recommend the same thing that I have used myself. Best wishes to all of you for Diwali 2023."
