Taylor Swift’s mother testified on Wednesday that she was shocked when her daughter told her she had been groped while posing for a photograph before a 2013 concert in Denver. However, she as a parent decided to take legal help to protect her daughter and other young girls.

The singer’s mother, Andrea Swift, 59, got emotional as she took a stand in the federal court, and recounted, “I was very upset…I felt like I wanted to vomit.” as reported by New York Times. The testimony was in response to a suit filed by a former radio host, David Mueller, who says Taylor Swift has falsely accused him of groping her.

In 2013, Taylor Swift had one of her concerts in Denver and it was then the former radio artist from KYGO David Mueller was accused of groping the pop star while posing for a picture. The New York Times reported that Mueller put his hand up her dress and grabbed her bottom as he posed for a photograph with her before a June 2, 2013, concert in Denver. In 2015, Mueller filed suit against Swift, saying that her account led to his firing from the Denver radio station, KYGO, and has kept him from working in the industry. Post that Swift, countersued, accusing Mueller of assault and battery.

A civil trial ensued and on Wednesday,  Swift’s attorney asked Mueller, 55, why his right hand was under her skirt. Mueller said that his hand touched her rib cage while they were posing for the picture, which was absolutely accidental. The Grammy-winning artist said in a deposition, “It was not an accident, it was completely intentional, and I have never been so sure of anything in my life.” She is expected to take the witness stand later in the trial, as reported by The Guardian. 

While the accused blatantly refuses the charges put on him, Swift’s attorney Douglas Baldridge claims that the former disc jockey was upset for not being given VIP passes and being made to stand in the queue with other fans and the same was acknowledged by Mueller during a cross-examination.
