Teen Mahurat Steals The Show With Its Theme Of Woman Empowerment At The 17th Third Eye Asian Film Festival

Teen Mahurat starring Vartika Tiwari, Aritra Sarkar, Raj Banerjee, Richa Meena, Anurag Thakur and Disha Thakur, directed by Deyali Mukherjee and produced by Sriram Raja & Prateek Chakravorty was one of the interesting films which were showcased at the recently held 17^th Third Asian Film festival in Mumbai at the Citylight. Directed by a woman, Teen Mahurat is a film with three different segments which deal with women empowerment and revolve around three women who take an important decision of their life in three auspicious hours. The film tells the story of these three women, one getting into the system of an orthodox society, another struggling within the system and the other one breaking out of the system.

Deyali Mukherjee is an bright and young actress cum independent filmmaker who is working on documentaries, shorts and feature films. She is a graduate of FTII Pune. She started her career as an architect and has worked as an art director for various films. Teen Muhurat is her first feature-length anthology film as a Writer-Director.

The first one is about a confused bride who is getting into a conversation with the makeup man, who has come to dress her up for her wedding ceremony. Started on a bitter note, the bride and her makeup guy gradually become easy when she gets to know that the guy is gay. The second story is about a bright young lady, who joins as a personal secretary to the CEO of a big company. One evening, after an unexpected encounter with her boss, she realizes how strangely the world around her is trying to bury her self-respect and objectify her. She takes a decision to stand up and question the system from within. The third story is about a career oriented rebel girl, who does not compromise with any so-called norm of the society, whether at work place or in personal life. She wants to break all the rules and dreams to become an entrepreneur one day. She puts her foot forward and tries to bring people together to embark on an exciting ride.

Teen Muhurat  has already been showcased at the 9th Jagran Film Festival 2018 , KIFFI Jaipur 2018, 9th Asian Film Festival 2018 and last but not the least FFSI International Women's Film Festival 2019.
