Bhalchandra Nemade is a big name in the world of Marathi literature. The famous novel 'Kosala' written by Bhalchandra Nemade created a different era in the literary world. Breaking the structure of writing, Bhalchandra presented his opinion in it, which is why this novel became a special favorite of the audience. Its popularity can be gauged from the fact that it was translated into many Indian languages including Hindi. It was greatly appreciated at the international level. This is the story of a young man named Pandurang Sangvikar. Kosala is the journey of a young person who comes from village to city for education, then goes back to the village and experiences there. This novel narrating the life journey of this young man is now going to be seen on screen through a film. Recently the film 'Kosala-Ninety Ninety of Hundred...' was announced at a grand function in Mumbai. Novel writer Bhalchandra Nemade was also present in this function. On this occasion, Nirgun classical music by singer Jaideep Vaidya and tabla player Ketan Pawar added color to the program. Achyuta Palav created a beautiful artwork ‘Kosala’ on canvas.

Bhalchandra Nemade wrote this novel in 1963 at the age of 25. The novel was translated into English as well as Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Assamese, Punjabi, Urdu, Bengali and Oriya languages. Therefore, the recognition of this novel is not limited only to India but has reached the international level. In 2014, Dr. Bhalchandra Nemade was honored with the 50th Gyaanpith Award, considered the highest in Indian literature, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Discussing the film after the film's Muhurta, writer Bhalchandra Nemade said, "I love films as much as I love literature. I couldn't do anything except watch movies. But thanks to a friend Sayaji Shinde, I reached films. Till now many people have approached me to take the rights of 'Kosala', but none of them could make a film about it. I also felt the same way about it, that in a year he would say that nothing could be done and he would give up. But their determination was immense. These people reached here. He has worked very hard and that has encouraged me. He has given me the enthusiasm to write the next Kandbari.

While actor Sayaji Shinde said, “The publication of this novel and my coming to Mumbai happened simultaneously. At that time I myself read excerpts from this novel. We thought about how it would be used for speaking and acting. A lot of time passed after that. Many people thought of making a film on this novel. Meanwhile, one day I got a call from Mehul Sir. Then we had one or two meetings with Nemade sir. And finally, Nemade sir agreed to ‘Kosala’. Now this film starts by following all the rules of Sir. We are not tampering with the novel in any way. ,

Regarding the film, director Aditya Rathi says, 'Writer and novelist Bhalchandra Nemade is a great personality. We are making a film about them. Actually, this novel is based on Bhalchandra Nemade's own personal life. For this, I want to thank Mehul Shah for helping us. It is an emotional story of a young man who does not like the depressing environment of his village, despite being disgusted by it, he dreams of doing something big for the village. Actually, there is no need to say anything about the film. Because many of us have read this novel. So now the audience will soon get to see this story on screen.

Gayatri Patil, the second director of the film, said – “Bhalchandra Nemade sir is from Jalgaon and I am also from Jalgaon. I like the novel 'Kosala' very much because this novel talks about respect for women. That's why I found this story very special.
