THE HITS AND MISSES OF THE INDIA COUTURE WEEK 2017

The much awaited and anticipated Fashion Show of the year, India Couture Week 2017 came to an end yesterday. It was a star-studded affair indeed like it is every year. What did break the monotony was the breathtaking designs and visuals of the show. The designers put their best foot forward not just in terms of the ensembles, but also the setup and the showstoppers. While a few did end up getting the popular stars walk the ramp for them, there were a few who just let their designs do the talking.

Therefore, it's time we decide who stole the show and who barely managed to do so. Let's get a tad bit critical and opinionated.

The India Couture Week 2017 did indeed save the best for the last. Ace designer Manish Malhotra ended the week long show with a glorious show and the showstoppers, Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, made us all skip a beat as they looked beguiling and breathtaking. This a picture of the superstars in their respective fields captured in one frame.

These according to us were the best outfits of the Fashion week! They did not just steal the show but also made our hearts skip a beat with their sheer display of perfection!
HITS!

1. This one needs no description and no showstopper. Varun Bahl took our breath away with his creations. Just a sigh would suffice!

2. That's quite the bridal crew. Anita Dogre easily slays with her collection

3. Ranveer Singh looked like a more suave, modern-day version of Bajirao in this gorgeous navy blue ensemble. The outfit did bring out the best in him and the picture stands strong as a testament.

4. Monisha Jaising's rendition of a saree with puffed sleeves, a sweetheart neckline and that thigh-high slit is absolutely perfect and who better to carry it off than Shilpa Shetty.

5. Athiya Shetty looked every bit the showstopper. From the Shyamal and Bhumika gorgeous ensemble to her hair and make-up, everything seems to be working well together

6. Dia Mirza clad in an Anju Modi ensemble stole the show for us. God! We couldn't take our eyes off her

7. Tarun Tahiliani sticks to his signature style and we can't see ourselves complaining

8. That's an adorable way to close the show. Rahul Mishra is accompanied by his wife and little child

We are glad there were lesser MISSES than hits!

9. Frankly, Aditi Rao Hydari has looked better and as a matter of fact, keeping Gaurav Gupta's designs in mind, this particular attire does not make it to the list of our favourites.

10. This outfit doesn't do justice to Manish Malhotra's label. Though Alia looks as charismatic as ever, we are not particularly in love with the colour and the fit and those flowers on the train look really tacky.

11. This is simply not Rina Dhaka's best creation attire and Huma could have done a better job with carrying it off. She looks tired and a tad bit awkward

12. The colour simply doesn't work for Bhumi Pednekar. The embroidery is too loud on this Reynu Tandon ensemble and the fabric looks cheap.

13. Rohit Bal is the king when it comes to styling basics, but this ensemble, although classy, is just too bleh! We've seen the same design many times over.

14. Disha Patani looks like she just arrived from the sets of Mohenjodaro directly on to the ramp. Manav Gangwani could have done a better job with the fringe on the blouse and tbh, the lehenga is also too over the top.

The India Couture Week did both manage to live up to our expectations and let us down a bit. Nonetheless, it was a beautiful week. Which designers were your favourite?
