The Kerala Story

If we talk according to the reports, The Kerala story is still in the identification phase. Once the identification is resolved then it will be screened in the UK.

As per Suresh Varsani, Who is a director of Movie's UK distributor 24 SEVEN FLIX4U, contacted all the cinemas on Friday to pull down the movie from the theatres without identification. He said that “It was very concerning for me" movies are in three languages Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil. They watched one version on Wednesday and Other Two versions on Thursday.

The Kerala Story

Varsani told that he was emailing them on May 11 i.e Thursday and he got reply from them that “They are still reviewing it”. On Friday, 12 May he called them again, they said that it would not be classified on that day. I was very suspicious that the reason was not valid at all. Why do they need more 3 days when it is already late? I have never face this situations where the movie is not classified till yet because India, Ireland, Canada, USA and Australia already passed it. I did not get the issue that what was problem also he said that he and the cinemas suffered a combined loss of (Rs. 40 to Rs. 50 lakh).

The Kerala Story

These days there is a huge uproar in India over the film The Kerala Story. In view of the apprehensions of protest, this film has been removed from cinema halls at many places. Will the publication and sale of a book be stopped just because there is an uproar over it? Will a film be banned if there is an uproar? Will a picture exhibition be locked if there is an uproar? Will a writer be removed from the city, state, country or even the world if there is an uproar? But why? Why can't our society tolerate uproar or controversy? If a film or documentary does not conform to it, then there is a demand to ban it with one voice. Why so? Our society really cannot tolerate movement or agitation. He is a supporter of status quoism. He wants that the ugly and cruel truth of the society should not come to the fore.
