“The Youth Today Have Pens, Not Guns Anymore”, Says Sidharth Nagar

Dhappa, a film based on the corruption in U.P and the games played by the youth for money and directed by Sidharth Nagar is slated for release on December 14. Director Sidharth Nagar says that through his film he wants to convey the message that the youth needs pens today in their hands and not guns. I want to show that if the youth takes guns in their hands instead of pens, they end up as the victims of bullets from the police force. I decided to intertwine the subject with the game fo Aais Pais to drive home the poignant message to the viewers. Though many films have come up earlier with titles which h compel the viewers to think, today  films have besides powerful titles also thought provoking  out of the box content which will automatically goad them to think. If the title is interesting, the audience will automatically stay glued to the films.

Sidharth says, "My film sets out to take the audience back to the era when the game of Aais Pais was being played by the youth. Though that game was played by children, my film has woven the game with crime as it exists today in society. The subject of my film Dhappa is based in U.P where the emphasis is more on guns than pens. Though the situation now is under control there was a time when the terror of gunshots was there since the youth used to go astray and pick up a life of crime. Through my film, I have tried to show that the era has changed and strength of the youth now is pens and not bullets".

 Sidharth is a loyalist who has directed over 3000 episodes of TV shows till today, has cast most of his regular actors like Ayub Khan, Amit Behl, Deepraj Rana, Jugnu, Brajendra Kala, Jaya Bhattacharya etc. Varsha Manikchand makes her debut as a leading lady with Dhappa while Brajendra Kala plays a vital negative role in Dhappa.
