Macho sinewy Tiger Shroff known for his dare-devilry stunts and slick mock-fights action scenes in Bollywood movies will now wear the mantle of a ‘boxer’ . It is in this upcoming action-packed yet-emotional thriller two-parts movie is called ‘Ganpat’ ( a massy-title) being directed by Vikas Bahl ( of ‘Queen’ and ‘Super 30’ fame. This movie is essentially an edgy sports-drama with Tiger playing the title-role. Apparently, Tiger ( real name Jai Hemant) who is already has an off-screen fetish for MMA ( Mixed Martial Arts) is busy ‘prepping for his rugged role and is honing up his boxing skills as it will require him to be sparring punches in the boxing ring eventually as a ‘world-class boxer’ Interestingly, his character is a staunch Ganesha-bhakt and hence the under-dog character is called ‘Ganpat’.
The hunt is on for the female lead and the character who will play Tiger’s screen-father with an emotional under-current. Meanwhile, the shoot of Hindi remake of Sylvester Stallone’s ‘Rambo’ has been pushed to Oct-Nov 2021. Meanwhile Vikas Bahl is also working on a maverick subject-movie titled ‘Deadly’ which centres around a funny, quirky look at a funeral.The health-conscious Tiger is super-busy career-wise, with upcoming movies like Heropanti-2 being directed by Ahmed Khan. Bollywood has seen many movies in the past based on boxing.
Like for instance ‘Boxer’ (1984) directed by Raj ‘Daddu’ Sippy, where Mithun Chakraborty played the title-role and ‘Ghulam’(1998) where Aamir Khan is shown in several scenes boxing with co-star Sharat Saxena. Or even ‘Brothers’ (2015) which was based on ‘MMA’ fights and bouts. Undoubtedly, ‘Ganpat’ is bound to be a visual treat for milllions of Tiger’s fans who loved him in his slick fight-action scenes in the recent YRF movie ‘War’ where he was pitted against the macho super-star Hrithik Roshan
