Producers Binaifer Kohli and Sanjay Kohli’s daughter Chayn Kohli organised a special event at home recently in memory of the brave soldiers who lost their lives in the tragic Pulwama attack this year in January. Bravehearts Nitin Rathod and Sanjay Rajput’s families were invited at the Kohli residence. “I am so proud of my daughter Chayn Kohli, she organised an entire day with these families. She took care of their conveyance, felicitation and gave them immense respect. It feels so nice we learn so much from our kids. When Chayn contacted actors Shubhangi Atre, Rohitashv Gour, Rishina Kandhari and Mrunal Jain, they were more than willing to be a part of it. The major contributors were Sanjay Kohli, Ekta Kapoor, BP Singh, Rupali Guha, and Saumya Tandon. All the dignitaries got together and recited poetry written by Chayn. The families were very touched. It was nice to see many fraternity folks and dignitaries supporting such a noble cause,” says Binaifer.
Talking about her experience, Shubhangi says, “I cannot forget their faces and cannot even begin to understand what they are going through. No matter how much we give them, what they have lost in life, we cannot replace. But being Indians, we can give them love and the belief that they are not alone, we are with them. Their sacrifice for this country cannot be expressed in words. We can help them complete their dreams for their children. I am so grateful to Mr and Mrs Kohli for calling me. I feel that we must do our best for these families. The poetry was so beautiful. It had all the emotions that we are feeling today.”In fact, Shubhangi was even pleased to hear that the ladies loved Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain and promised to send them her character, Angoori Bhabhi’s, sari as well.
Rohitashv Gour says, “I am so grateful to be able to be part of this cause. It is causes like these which help you understand your purpose as a human being, to help one another. These ladies are as brave as their husbands and their sacrifice is no less than them.” Other celebrities who were there to support the cause included Hiba Nawab and producer B.P. Singh. Cheques and gifts for their children were handed over to the families by the actors and producers.
