An actor often dedicates long hours to perfect their craft, from early morning rehearsals to late-night shoots. They immerse themselves in their roles, studying scripts and character backgrounds to bring authenticity to their performances. One such example is Aarya Babbar from Jagriti-Ek Nayi Subah, who has been working day and night for his role as Kalikant Thakur in the show. In fact, his look has sparked comparisons to the late legendary Vinod Khanna from his classic film Mera Gaon Mera Desh. Aarya’s modern twist to Vinod’s character Jabbar Singh from the movie, with earthy tones and rugged outfits, feels fresh. For Aarya, hearing these comparisons reminds him that hard work pays off and that his effort to connect with viewers is recognized and valued.
Aarya Babbar said, “I am really grateful to the viewers for all the love and recognition they are giving me for Kalikant Thakur. For me, it’s an overwhelming feeling to be even mentioned in the same sentence as Vinod Khanna sir, he was and is indeed a legend, having given iconic movies and characters to our industry. I have actually studied his character Jabbar Singh from Mera Gaon Mera Desh as it is one of the iconic films of Indian cinema. I feel that the kind of aura and personality Kalikant Thakur exudes in the show derives inspiration from this character of Vinod Khanna sir. People are tagging me in different posts on social media and my DMs are also full of these messages. I must say that my hard work is definitely paying off and my heart is full of love and gratitude. I am also glad that for the first time, I am being compared to some other actor's father and not my own father (laughs)."
While Aarya is exhilarated about his look and this comparison, it will be interesting for the viewers to watch how will Jagriti (Asmi Deo) save her father’s life and completes the challenge given by Durjan (played by actor Prakhar Saxena).
