Zee Cinema invites you to witness a riveting jail drama that combines intensity and a heartfelt love story with the World Television Premiere of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha this Saturday, November 30th, at 8 PM. A fresh approach to the romantic thriller genre, the film delves into the complex lives of an inmate, revealing his struggles in unexpected ways.
You've played a wide variety of roles throughout your career. What drew you to Krishna in Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha?
Krishna is a deeply layered character. He's not just someone who went through a tragedy, he's a man whose life has been shaped by his circumstances - prison, guilt, and the longing for redemption. Neeraj Pandey's vision for this character was compelling. It wasn’t just about the crime or the punishment, it’s about how those 23 years in jail shaped his humanity.
The film has a unique focus on drama as well as romance. How did that affect your approach?
I think it’s refreshing. The jail sequences, especially, pushed me as an actor. The isolation, the emotional turmoil - it’s raw and unfiltered. The challenge was to portray the weight of those years without over-dramatizing it. Neeraj is a perfectionist, and he guided us in striking that balance.
What was it like collaborating with Tabu again?
Tabu and I go back a long way. She’s not just a phenomenal actor but someone who understands the nuances of every scene. In this film, our shared history as actors helped us bring that bittersweet connection between Krishna and Vasudha to life. There’s a sense of quiet understanding in their relationship that I think audiences will connect with.
What do you think audiences will take away from Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha?
I hope they see it as more than just a story - it’s a reflection of how human relationships evolve under pressure. This film challenges you to think about forgiveness, redemption, and how life can offer second chances, even after decades.
