Sony SAB has long been celebrated for its progressive and empowering shows, including the fan favorite, Pushpa Impossible which showcases the inspiring journey of Pushpa (Karuna Pandey), a single mother navigating life"s challenges with positivity and resilience. As the International Day of Persons with Disabilities was observed recently, Pushpa Impossible emerged as a changemaker, highlighting the need for empathy, and creating opportunities for people with special needs. The channel has since the show"s launch made a significant commitment to inclusivity by casting an actor with special needs Hans Aslot as Golu, a character with Down's Syndrome. In a candid conversation with Hans and his mother, we discover how his journey in the show has helped him become self-reliant and confident despite his disabilities. Hans Aslot"s mother shares, "Hans is a special child and he"s always shown great interest for talents like dancing and acting. We were all thrilled when the team reached out to us to cast him for the role of Golu but were anxious if he will fit in among the other actors on the sets. We are pleasantly surprised as over the past two years, we have seen numerous improvements in him and he has blended himself seamlessly among the team.” She continued, “He has learned a lot by observing his fellow actors on set. Slowly, he picked up skills from others, and though initially he was shy, now he freely interacts with everyone on set. He has even learned to express emotions and convey feelings, which he didn"t do much of before. From the time he has taken on the role, Hans has been giving importance to his appearance, and to maintain his weight, he walks every day, often between shots, as it helps him stay fit and look his best on-screen." Hans" transformation is a testament to Sony SAB and Pushpa Impossible"s efforts to foster empathy and inclusivity, both on and off the screen.
