This film was released on 15th August 1975, when no other film could even survive in the theatres, 'Jai Santoshi Maa' is the only film that not only stood strong against 'Sholay', but if we look at the cost of making the film and the box office collection, then 'Jai Santoshi Maa' proved to be a much bigger hit film than 'Sholay'.
