Zee TV’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, India's leading singing reality show, continues to enthral audiences with its perfect blend of talent, entertainment, and inspiration. As the competition continues to heat up week-after-week, the nation has stayed glued to their TV screens as they cheer for their favourite contestants. They have witnessed a fantastic transformation of these raw talents into polished performers under the guidance of the mentors Sachin-Jigar, Sachet Parampara, and Guru Randhawa. However, these young talents never cease to surprise the mentors as well as the audience with their sheer musical brilliance. What’s more is that viewers are in for a treat as veteran actress Jaya Prada will be gracing the special episode this weekend.
During the shoot of this special episode, contestant Bidisha delivered an outstanding performance to the iconic tracks Mujhe Naulakha Manga De Re and Dafli Wale Dafli Baja. Her electrifying rendition left everyone in awe, earning her a standing ovation not just from the mentors but also from the special guest, the legendary Jaya Prada. She was so impressed by the performance that it transported her back in time to her days of filming Dafli Wale Dafli Baja. In fact, she shared a few behind-the-scenes anecdotes regarding the iconic song as well. But what’s even more exciting was the fact that she even complimented Bidisha by saying how her performance reminded her of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar!
Jaya Prada said, “I cannot express it in words, but the way you have sung this song has reminded me of Lata didi today. You are truly superb! In fact, I must say that it is not easy to attempt this song, but you have nailed it. Actually, the song Dafli wale Dafli Baja was not going to be a part of the movie because we had too many songs recorded and shot already. But on the last day of the shoot, everyone decided to film it and we completed it in just one day. When it was out in the theatres, people would stop the show and listen to the song repeatedly. It was a very special song for all of us, and instead of being known as Jaya Prada, I was known for this song.”
While Bidisha impressed Jaya ji, contestant Riya’s performance to ‘Gori Hai Kalaiyan’ also brought back some fond memories for the legendary actress. Jaya Prada shared a sweet anecdote about the song and mentioned how, after its release, people would often ask her if they should bring her hari chudiya (green bangles).
While Jaya Prada’s anecdotes will keep you hooked to the episode, wait till you see all the performances of our phenomenal singer during this weekend.
Tune into Sa Re Ga Ma Pa this Saturday and Sunday at 9 PM, only on Zee TV!
