Sony SAB’s Pushpa Impossible has captivated audiences with the inspiring story of Pushpa, a strong-willed woman who faces life’s challenges with courage and optimism. Karuna Pandey, who plays Pushpa, has recently taken on a double role in the show, stepping into the shoes of both Pushpa and her lookalike, Basanti. In a shocking twist in the story Basanti who was living in Kanpur lands up with Pushpa’s family in Mumbai while the real Pushpa finds herself in Kanpur in Basanti’s place.

In a candid conversation, Karuna Pandey shares how she adapted to the Kanpur style of speaking to play Basanti’s role and how it is fun to be an artist and learn something new every day.

Karuna says, “Playing the role of Basanti has brought fresh challenges and unique experiences to my life. To portray Basanti convincingly, I had to dive into the finer details of rural life as she comes from a place called Chunniganj in Kanpur. This helped me to make the performance more realistic.”

Karuna adds more by saying, “I took on the task of learning the Kanpur way of speaking, which I found difficult at first, as it was not something I was used to. The production team provided a language instructor who stays with me on set to guide me when I make mistakes. This support has been invaluable, helping me to perfect the dialect and bring authenticity to Basanti’s character.”
