Serial 'Shrimad Ramayana' will be telecast on Sony TV from January 1

Shrimad Ramayana is a mythological TV serial that will be telecast on Sony TV. The show is produced by Siddharth Kumar Tiwari, and the show is made under the banner of Swastik Production. The show will be launched on the Sony TV channel on January 1, 2024. It will air from Monday to Friday on Sony Entertainment Television. The first promo of the show was released on 15 August 2023.

The crux of the show

If we talk about the story of the show, the 'Shrimad Ramayana' serial will showcase the extraordinary life of Lord Ram and how he dealt with the difficulties in his life. The journey from the kidnapping of Mother Sita to how Lord Rama freed her from Ravana, from her exile to the ordeal of Mother Sita will be shown.

The cast of the show

In the show, Sujay Reu will be seen in the role of Lord Ram, Prachi Bansal as Mata Sita, Basant Bhatt as Lakshman, Nirbhay Wadhwa as Hanuman, and Aarav Choudhary as King Dashrath, and Nikitin Dheer as Ravana. The best actors have been selected for every character.

During the launch of the show

Recently, during the show launch, a glimpse of the main cast was presented to the public. The actors looked amazing, and the grand set of the show was also visible. Lord Ram, Mother Sita, Lakshman, and Hanuman fit their respective characters. The artists looked perfect in elaborate clothes and ornaments.

During the launch of the show, the host while talking about the show said, “By diving deep into the roots of Indian culture and history, Swastik Productions has presented cutting-edge cinematic content for the Indian audience. And now this mega show has been produced.”

On this occasion, Swastik Production founder and creator of 'Shrimad Ramayan' Siddharth Kumar Tiwari, production designer of Shrimad Ramayan Umang Kumar, and the show's dialogue writer and lyricist Vinod Sharma were present.

Content for all age group people

When Neeraj ji was asked that to date we have seen many forms of Ramayana, how will Sony Television's 'Shrimad Ramayana' connect with today's generation on an emotional level? On this Neeraj says, “I felt for many, and still feel, that the kind of content being made on television is limited. I feel that if television has to survive in this content race, then television will also have to move ahead and create content in such genres that it can fight the competition. I think the job of a general entertainment channel is to create content of multiple expressions. If you see, most of the content that is being made in this space is soaps, whatever content is coming on TV from 6 or 6:30 pm to 11 pm is only soaps. The content of soaps is for a limited target audience. Now, since India One TV is a household society, where people sit together and watch TV, perhaps they watch that content but I don't think it is the content of their choice. Secondly, digital has created a lot of content that people are now watching on their own devices. A content that entertains, that tells traditional Indian values, I think that kind of content is Ramayana. People of all ages can watch Ramayana. An entire family can watch Ramayan sitting together. I think we need this kind of content today. I want to thank everyone who is associated with this show. We have made this show with great devotion. Watch the show and do tell us how you liked it.”

Question- When you were casting for the characters of this show, what was going on in your mind? Tell us something about it.

Siddharth- The story of Ramayana is not such that any person wakes up in the morning and says come let's say Ramayana today. The story of Ramayana is such that you will be able to tell it only when you get a chance to tell it. It was only after Mahabharata that I started thinking that if I ever get a chance, I would like to tell the story of Ramayana also. When I talked to Neeraj about this, he said that today's generation should know about a story like Ramayana. There are so many lessons in Ramayana that should be conveyed to today's readers through new methods and techniques. We hope everyone will like it.

Question- The set looks very beautiful. What was going through your mind when you were thinking about designing this?

Umang- If we talk about preparation, I have been preparing for the last 25 years. This is my sixth or maybe seventh Ramayana. Every time I do, I see it in a new way. There is always something new to learn. Thinking also changes with generation. Everyone knows what the story is, but showing it in a new way is a challenge. We have done everything with great detail. We have done this keeping in mind the way things were at that time. We have also tried to bring a little freshness to it, and that is why this set looks so huge and beautiful.

Question- When you write dialogues for something like Ramayana, what kind of research is done, or what goes on in your mind?

Vinod- I say this again and again whatever I write is not written by me, it is Ram who is getting it written. That's why I can't take credit for it. We all have heard the story of Ramayana in which Lord Ram turns his hand on the squirrel to help him in the work done by the squirrel to build the Sagar Setu. So we too are just like that squirrel, we are working with our faith, dedication, hard work, and faith. I believe that it does not matter who knows how much about Ramayana, whatever we know, we are presenting it to the people with our full devotion.

Grand set of the show

On this occasion, some scenes of the show were also shown which looked very amazing and different. Looking at the set, it seems as if we have gone to the times of Ramayana. On this occasion, some characters also gave a small presentation as per their character. If we talk about Nikitin Dheer in the role of Ravana, he was looking amazing in Ravana's attire, it seemed as if we were standing in front of Ravana in a real Lanka. Every detail was made with special care. We are going to see fascinating scenes in the show.
