Gulki Joshi joins the cast of Sony SAB's upcoming medical drama Yaadein as a strong, intelligent, and deeply emotional woman

Playing the role of Resident Doctor Vaani, Srishti Singh approached her character with a deep sense of intent and understanding. Vaani is not just a young doctor finding her footing in a demanding medical environment; she is someone who looks up to Dr. Dev (played by Iqbal Khan) and quietly aspires to embody his attributes. To internalise this layered dynamic, Srishti went beyond understanding medical terminology. She spent time observing and immersing real-life senior doctors in hospitals, carefully noting how they respond under pressure, and how they maintain calm authority during pressured times.  (Sony SAB new fiction show 2026)

Speaking about her preparation and her role, Srishti Singh shared, “There was a time when I truly aspired to become a doctor, and stepping into that environment again brought back those old dreams. While preparing for my character, observing resident doctors in particular was eye-opening. They are constantly on their feet, juggling pressure, responsibility, and long hours — yet they rarely react dramatically. They listen with complete focus, process every detail, and then communicate the issue in a few clear, measured words. That understanding deeply influenced my portrayal of Vaani. It helped me embrace her quiet strength and composure, and in many ways, it felt like I was reconnecting with the doctor I once hoped to be.” (Italian series DOC global adaptations)
