When love turns controlling: Anvita takes a firm stand and walks away from Sanjay when he slaps her in Sony SAB’s Itti Si Khushi

Sony SAB’s Itti Si Khushi follows the heartfelt journey of Anvita (Sumbul Touqeer Khan), a selfless young woman who has taken on the role of a parent to her siblings. From supporting her family through life’s toughest moments to balancing the challenges of love and marriage, Anvita has always put the needs of her family first. As she attempts to build a new life with her husband, Sanjay (Rishi Saxena), the unresolved emotions from her past with Virat (Rajat Verma) continue to surface, testing her strength and determination in unexpected ways.

As the story moves ahead, a tense situation unfolds when Advocate Leena plans a surprise visit to evaluate whether Anvita’s siblings are in a safe and nurturing environment. Sensing the situation could go against them, Sanjay handles it strategically and ensures Anvita realises that her siblings’ custody rests entirely on him, subtly reminding her she must not think of leaving him. Soon after, Anvita realizes something is amiss when Sanjay repeatedly calls her with minute-by-minute updates from home, raising questions about how he knows everything. Determined to uncover the truth, she seeks Diya's (Meghna Kukreja) and Virat’s help and is stunned to discover that Sanjay has created a surveillance room with live footage of every corner of the Bhosale and Divekar house and cafe. When she confronts him, Sanjay reacts violently and slaps her, leading Anvita to finally walk out of his home and go back to the Divekar house.

Will this mark the end of Sanjay and Anvita’s relationship, or will Sanjay once again manipulate her by using her siblings’ custody against her?

Speaking about the track, Sumbul Touqeer Khan shares, “Anvita has always believed in holding her family together, but this moment is her breaking point. Being slapped is not just physical pain—it shatters trust and dignity. Walking out is her way of choosing self-respect, even when it means risking everything she loves. For me as an actor, portraying these emotions on screen was incredibly challenging but also very empowering.”
