World Music Day 2025: It's often said that music is magic — it has the power to transport, transform, and tell stories in ways words sometimes can’t. This World Music Day, actress Diksha Dhami, who plays Chaina in Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain on Shemaroo Umang, shares how music has been an inseparable part of her life.
Diksha’s Music Journey Begins at Home
Opening up about her deep bond with music, Diksha said, “Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember— even before I could speak properly. My mom is a singer, so I grew up hearing her sing around the house while cooking, cleaning, or just relaxing. I didn’t understand most of the words back then, but I’d still hum along. Her voice had this comforting magic that made everything feel warm and safe. It’s hard to put into words, but I felt it. Even now, whenever I hear her sing, it instantly takes me back to those childhood days. That’s what music is for me— comfort, memories, and a piece of home.”
She further added, "Even now, when I hear those same old songs or any soulful tune, it instantly calms me down. For me, music has never just been entertainment, it’s something that grounds me, something that brings me peace. Music has shaped so much of who I am without me even realizing it. The way I feel things, the way I express emotions in my scenes, I think a lot of that comes from growing up around music. On World Music Day, I just feel really thankful to my mom for passing that love for music on to me. It’s something that still inspires me every single day.”
As Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain continues to strike an emotional chord with its viewers, Diksha’s real-life connection with music only deepens the emotion she brings to her performance.
