It is safe to say that 2017 hasn't exactly been the best for Bollywood. Take the last few weeks for instance. Barring Golmaal Again, there hasn't been a single 'success'. While small films like Jia Aur Jia and Rukh sank without a trace, a film like like Secret Superstar which had a name like Aamir Khan to boast also failed to set the box office on fire.
In the midst of these dark times, this week's release is, well, a dark edgy thriller Ittefaq, an official remake of the 1969 cult edge-of-the-seat drama. The film starring Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha and Akshaye Khanna marks the directorial debut of the late producer Ravi Chopra's son Abhay Chopra. While the film seems to be a promising affair from the word go, if it really lives up to the expectations and passes the acid test is something we'll tell you right here right now from the first day first show! Here we go!
We have about 60% occupancy for #Ittefaq on a working morning. Not a bad start for the film, we say. #fdfs
