In the year 1971, there were two names that created a sensation which led to the creation of a new country. They were Mrs Indira Gandhi and Shaikh Mujibur Rahman ( besides field marshal Sam Maneckshaw). Mrs Gandhi went on to be a greater legend and Mujibur Rahman was the first Prime Minister of Bangladesh and rulled the country till he was brutally assassinated together with his family and in his own house. He was the first recognized hero of Bangladesh and its people and was known as "Banga Bandhu" -

Mujibur Rahman would have been hundred years old if he was alive now at a time when his own daughter, Shaikh Haseena is the ruling Prime Minister of Bangladesh and a sweeping change has come over the country for which he lived and laid down his life for.
Why am I going into that historic past? I have a very strong reason. The life and times of Mujibur Rahman are now being converted into two big films to coincide with his centenary, one to be made on the national level and the other on an international scale. The first will be directed by an 80 year old director from India who has made some classics during the last fifty years. I can’t give you his name right now because I have a promise to keep, but I will be the first to give out the name and that is a promise.
The shooting of the film made by the great director has already started in Mumbai and the filmmaker wants to reveal the name of the actor who will play Mujibur Rahman within the next two weeks.
