Series Jubilee (1)

Vamika Gabbi in the character of Niloufer Qureshi is working in Amazon Prime Video Series Jubilee , a period drama based on the story set in the heyday of the Hindi film industry i.e. 1940s and 1950s. She plays the role of a yesteryear actress and her journey from an aspiring newcomer to an established star is shown.

These days Babuji Bhole Bhale song has been very popular on social media. To get the song sequence right, Vamika took some inspiration from veteran Rekha and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, whose names include iconic jazz numbers in Bollywood. Vamika says, “Playing a character in a period drama is tricky as we often end up imitating the people we play as we have seen in movies. However, the dance sequences are different, as they have very subtle movements and distinct steps and facial expressions. To get it right, I have followed actresses like Rekhaji, Priyanka Chopra and watched songs of these famous actresses again and again to prepare for the peppy jazzy number Babuji Bhole Bhale."
