Bollywood's most successful star kid of recent times Varun Dhawan enjoys a 100% success track record and also usually stays away from controversies. The happy-go-lucky Badrinath of Bollywood recently attended the 18th edition of IIFA and did something which made him apologise to his fans. The actor took to his official twitter account and gave an formal apology.
The crux behind this apology act of Varun is that when the mega event IIFA was being shot, Varun along with filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Saif Ali Khan, sparked off a controversy over the nepotism debate at the awards night. When Varun won the Best Actor in a Comic Role award, the hosts of the event (Saif and Karan) commented on his star kid privileges when Varun came to the stage to collect his trophy. "You are here because of your Papa," Saif Ali Khan told Varun. The actor responded by saying "And you're here because of your mummy". Karan Johar, whose father Yash Johar set up Dharma Productions chimed in and said, "I am here because of my Papa." All three men then said "Nepotism rocks" in unison. Clearly, the sly dig was aimed at Saif's Rangoon co-star Kangana Ranaut, who had called Karan Johar the "flag bearer of nepotism" on his show Koffee With Karan.
Ever since the incident, all the three actors have been receiving flak for their act. Thankfully, Varun has realised his mistake and apologised for the same but will we see an apology from Karan and Saif as well? Only time will tell...
