Varun Dhawan's ‘Rannbhoomi’ is a reimagined version of Karan Johar’s ‘Shuddhi’?

The superstar in making, Varun Dhawan has been roped in for yet another Dharma Movie which also marks the actor's third outing with director, Shashank Khaitan. On Sunday evening, filmmaker Karan Johar, actor Varun Dhawan and director Shashank Khaitan revealed that they had a special announcement to make. The three took to their respective social media handles and shared that they will be coming together for another film. The next project is titled ‘Rannbhoomi’ and more details are yet to be finalized but little did we know is that Rannbhoomi’ is a reworked version of Karan’s ‘Shuddi’ that never saw the light of the day.

Sometime in 2013, Karan had planned to make the film with Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan but due to some unknown reasons, Hrithik turned down the venture. Later, Salman Khan was approached for the project, who also bailed out.

And now, reportedly Shashank Khaitan has re-imagined the entire script for Varun. The title also has been changed as it was assumed to be a bad omen.
