Varun Dhawan's Rannbhoomi to release on Diwali 2020

The superstar in making, Varun Dhawan has been roped in for yet another Dharma Movie which also marks the actor's third outing with director, Shashank Khaitan. On Sunday evening, filmmaker Karan Johar, actor Varun Dhawan and director Shashank Khaitan revealed that they had a special announcement to make. The three took to their respective social media handles and shared that they will be coming together for another film. The next project is titled ‘Rannbhoomi’ and more details are yet to be finalized. Shashank has previously directed Varun in two films for Karan’s production house – ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ and ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’; and is currently filming Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter starrer ‘Dhadak’.

‘Rannbhoomi’ is expected to be a war film and scheduled for a Diwali release in 2020. Karan tweeted, “So Proud to announce #RANNBHOOMI ....@ShashankKhaitan and @Varun_dvn take a giant leap in their third offering into a solid spectacle with a beating heart! DIWALI 2020 release! The lead cast will be finalised soon!!!! @DharmaMovies @apoorvamehta18”

Shashank says, “Rannbhoomi is a warrior film, which showcases love, relationships, sacrifices, revenge, and heroism. I remember, I began developing it in December 2015 and shared the idea with Varun, who got excited about it. Now, Karan has given us the wings to fly and we are excited to turn this dream into a reality.”
