There are many Indian movies which have been banned in Pakistan like Padman, Ek Tha Tiger, The Dirty Picture and so on. Recently Alia Bhatt starrer Raazi also got banned in Pakistan because of it's controversial content and now upcoming movie Veere di Wedding is also among the list because it is said to have "vulgar dialogues and obscene scenes.”
The movie was screened for the CBFC in Pakistan on Tuesday night. According to trade sources, the movie was deemed unfit for exhibition due to "vulgar dialogues and obscene scenes".
Danyal Gilani, Chairman, Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC), told IANS via social media: "Members of the CBFC unanimously decided to not allow the film for public exhibition in the cinemas as its content flouts the Censorship of Film Code 1980."
The film's distributors also withdrew their application to release it in Pakistan after witnessing its questionable content.
Veere di Wedding features Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania and is directed by Shashanka Ghosh. The movie is set to release on June 1, 2018.
