Dave, who was often referred to as the Gujarati version of actor Raj Kiran, was on dialysis for the last two years, and his health deteriorated in the last month. He did several theatre shows as well and played the role of Nanda in the mythological TV drama Mahabharata. He also participated in the dance reality show Nach Baliye with his wife Ketki in 2006.
Ketaki's mother is also a famous actress Sarita Joshi and her father (late) Pravin Joshi was a theatre director. She has a younger sister Purbi Joshi who is also an actress and an anchor. Rasik and Ketaki Dave ran a Gujarati theatre company too.
Rasik started his career in 1982 in a Gujarati film 'Putra Vadhu' and worked in both Gujarati and Hindi films as well as TV serials.
Ketki, who became popular for her role as Daksha in the TV show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, and Rasik were both well-known in the Gujarati film and theatre scene and had acted in several TV shows. The couple reportedly owned a Gujarati theatre company. The late actor was known for playing Karsandas Dhansukhlal Vaishnav in Sanskaar - Dharohar Apnon Ki.
Reportedly, Rasik had been battling kidney-related ailments and was on dialysis for the past couple of years; his last one month was painful as his kidneys continued to deteriorate.
We at Mayapuri and Bollyy Tv stand by Ketki Dave and her family members in their hour of crisis and pray that Rasik Dave's soul rests in peace.
