Veteran actor Waheeda Rehman was awarded with Dadasaheb Phalke Award honor

The 69th National Film Awards was held on 17 October in Delhi, on this occasion, Waheeda Rehman was honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Life Time Achievement Award for her incredible contribution to cinema. The entire auditorium echoed with thunderous applause, along with President Draupadi Murmu, everyone stood up to honor Waheeda ji and gave her a standing ovation. Waheeda ji became emotional after receiving so much love and respect.

On this golden occasion, Waheeda ji's journey was shown very beautifully on screen through a video, in the video some scenes and songs from Waheeda ji's famous films along with some of her friends who worked with Waheeda ji and Video messages from fellow artists were also seen. Everyone also congratulated him on the occasion of receiving the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Along with this, Waheeda ji was shown talking about her cinema journey in the video.

Waheeda Ji says in the video, “My father was an IAS, he was an open-minded person. Initially, I was fond of dancing, but my parents did not stop me, gradually I came into films, my first film was a Telugu film in which I had only one dance, and it was very successful. When we were celebrating the jubilee of that film in Hyderabad, coincidentally Guru Dutt Ji was there, he asked me to come to Bombay, and my first Hindi film was CID with him.” Waheeda ji says about Guru Dutt, “He was a very silent man, he did not speak much, and he used to secretly explain what the scene was and what its mood was.”

In the video, actor Chiranjeevi praises Waheeda ji's qualities and says, "The way Waheeda ji expresses emotions through her eyes in any scene is a phenomenal sight."

Talking about her film Guide, Waheeda Ji says, “I like Guide because its character was a little different, Vijay Anand had made the film with a lot of love and dedication, but even he did not know that the film would do so much good. I was always fond of doing some different films, in which the style of the character was a little different.”

Waheeda ji's very special friend Asha Parekh ji said about Waheeda ji in the video, "Whatever role Waheeda has got, she has played it very well."

She also thanked the makeup artist, hair artist, and costume designer. She said that she wants to share this award with all the departments of the film industry.
