You are acting in a TV serial called Brij Ke Gopal. What is your role in the serial?

I play the role of Malti in the serial Brij Ke Gopal. Malti is like Yashoda who is running after Krishna in the village though she is very allergic to the word Maiya. When Kanha touches Malti, she feels connected to the kid in a big way.

How tangible is your role in the show?

I have always hankered after quality work not quantity and hence only ask how important my role in a serial or a film is whenever I am offered work. As an actor, I do not want to get type cast. I am doing a social mythology for the first time in my career in twenty five years.

Who are the other actors in the show besides you?

Besides me, there are talented actors like Paras Arora, who is playing the role of Krishna, Manul Chudasama who plays Radha, Pankaj Berry who plays Gyandhar, Nimai Bali who plays Sahukaar, Gulfam Khan who plays Sujata and last but not the least Amit Bahl, who plays Chaitanya Maha Prabhu in the socio mythological show which is on air on Dangal TV

Is it true that you are part of a film like 3 Cheers which is being made in three languages-Hindi, Marathi and English?

Yes. I am playing a very important role in 3 Cheers which is being directed by Paritosh Painter who had recently directed me in the Marathi film Locha Jhala Re.

Yes. 3 Cheers is an out and out comedy film which is being made in three different languages- Marathi, Hindi and English.

Your role in Locha Jhala Re was very small. Why did you accept it?

I did the film only because Paritosh Painter, who is a family friend, directed it. He is a family friend. He had told me that I should always be a part of his films.

If I am busy he said he would cast me in a small role and if I am free he is ready to cast me in a big role.

Is it true that you are acting in a unique film called 3 Cheers? What is unique about the film? Which are the other projects in which you are working right now?

I am working in a 12 episode web series written and directed by the veteran actor Vikram Gokhale called Chala Junoon Devu Ya Dangal. I am also in talks to do a film in Marathi which revolves around a 40 year old woman.

I am working in the Marathi film Bhau Bali which is black comedy starring Kishore Kadam, as Bhau and Manoj Joshi , as Bali besides me and the backdrop of the silly conflict between a luxurious building and a chawl.

I play a beautiful woman behind whom all the men in the building as well as the chawl run all the time and how all the women are insecure about me and see me as a threat for their marriage.

In what way has Marathi Cinema changed over the years?

Earlier Marathi Cinema used to revolve only around the hero and the heroine but now Cinema revolves around n number of characters and very character automatically becomes the hero or the heroine and realistic and dark films are being made and each and every character has a definite role too to play in a film, with approximately around six main scenes devoted to him or her.

These days the scissor does not play a major role and your scenes are not cut because an actor is sure of getting a bound script.

Do you have any regrets that you should have made your debut now and not earlier?

I have absolutely no regrets at all. It is almost 25 years since I had made my debut in films in Marathi and though there have been several ups and downs in my career thanks to the kind of choices that I had made and several serials in which I had acted had also gone off air within two or three months of their commencement too.

I am happy with whatever I am doing whether in films or for that matter serials whether in Marathi or for that matter Hindi today, though it is true that I could have got more work than what came in my hands, because I have lived my life on my own terms and conditions till date.

Can you name some of the best films of yours in Marathi as well as Hindi?

Baazigar, Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi, Ishq Hai Tumse and Jai Ho in Hindi and Satwa Pareeksha, Jeev Laga, Maan Sammaan and Be Dooni Saade Char in Marathi.

The best thing about me is that all through my career, I have been lucky enough to play a wide variety of roles and have not let myself be typecast
