Vidharba Film & Tv Festival To Be Held In January 2019

The first ever International film festival called Vidharbha Film & TV Festival is at last coming to Vidharbha though the first ever film festival in India was held way back in 1952 in Delhi and currently many cities all over India host such festivals with regularity. The erstwhile first lady of the country ex President Mrs Pratibha Patil also hailed from Amravati in Vidharbha. The festival will screen as many as 12 films in Hindi, some of them being showcased as the world premiere and four Marathi films, besides a film in Bhojpuri, Sindhi, Punjabi and Gujarati. The festival, which will be held for three days to begin with, in two venues- one a vintage cinema house with 500 seating capacity and another a posh resto-bar with three floors, will boost the production of music videos and TV serials all over the country and hence will also showcase 12 top TV serials and also give away various awards to the cast and crew of the TV serials. This was announced by the organizer Amravati’s own pride Raju Kariya who has been also one of the leading publicity officers in Bollywood for the last 40 years at a special press conference where the local media was present in large numbers. Also present were veteran journalists like Jyothi Venkatesh, who has been not only a member of the Central Board of Film Censors for a period of eight years but also a member of the Script Committee of The National Film Development Corporation of India for a long time and Rajni Acharya, whose documentary film on Rafi called Daastan E Rafi will also be showcased in the festival, who answered a volley of questions about the need of a film festival in a place like Vidharbha in order to enhance the awareness of the locals about Cinema from all over the world. Raju Kariya has worked with various stalwarts including Dev Anand, Amitabh Bachchan, Rajendra Kumar, Raj Kapoor to Govinda, Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Rohit Roy, Ajay Devgn, Armaan Kohli and Salman Khan till today.
