VINAY JAISWAL'S ‘CHEETIYAAN’ GETS A WARM WELCOME!

Actor, director and producer Vinay Jaiswal hosted the screening of his short film "Cheetiyan" recently. Actors spotted at the event included Mrunal Jain, Kunal Thakur, Sana Sheikh, Kanwar Dhillon, Rupal Tyagi, Jayashri Venkatraman, Mayank Malik, Abhinav Kohli and Abhishek Rawat.The film deals with issues of divide between Hindus and Muslims. The audience was full of praises for the film and loved the performance of the actors.Talking about the film, Vinay says, "Cheetiyaan is my debut short film as an actor and it is very special to me. I wanted to make this short film for a long time now. But things were not working out. I wanted some big actors to be part of it but finally, I decided to do it myself and I am so happy with the way it has turned out."Talking about the thought process behind making the film, he says, “My friend Maddy and I were talking one day at my house about this Hindu- Muslim divide. He, being a religious Muslim, told me a few things which I agreed and disagreed and vice versa.

I remembered hateful things being fed and drilled in my mind when I was a child and the same was true for him as well. That’s how we thought of this concept. The title is the most interesting - Cheetiyaan – Ants! The uniqueness is how people create big differences and divide themselves over the smallest of things.”Actor Akhlaque Khan, who also plays a pivotal role in the film, says, "When Vinay (Jaiswal, director) narrated this script to me I was totally sold. Very rarely does an actor get a chance to speak his heart out through a story. So, when he asked me to be a part of it, I didn't blink before saying yes. The response is fabulous,” he says.
