Vivaadon Ki Queen Kya Jhansi Ki Raani Ko Bhi Vivaadon Ke Gehre Mein Laayegi

I am still not sure whether Kangana was born to create controversies or controversies found in her the right girl to keep the delicate and dicey game of controversies which keeps the world going was attracted to her, I sometimes also feel that Kangana would have been a popular and successful actress, but she would not be the Kangana Ranaut she is today.

She came down the hills of Himachal with her beautiful complexion and face that could launch more ships than the Helen of Troy and she was determined to conquer in a world full of competition, even cut – throat competition and do or die rivalry, but she was not going to go back to her favourite hills , come what may.

Controversy became her elder sister without asking her for permission and she was a very obedient sister who could go to any extents to follow her sister, Ms Controversy because she was told that controversy may give her a bad name for some time , but be of great help to her in the long run.

I had the unique good fortune to see Kangana at her worst while dealing with controversy I was a neighbour of Kangana when she lived in one of the many buildings in a society in Versova where she had a tumultuous life every night, she had made the first controversial mistake of her life and career when she fell for a handsome actor who was already married and had children of his own , this man used to come up to her PG digs and get drunk and abusive and even thrashed her for reasons best known to the two of them but they became the cynosure of the society and young boys and girls waited outside the building in which the show took place and as soon as the sound and fury started , they , a group of boys and girls said to each other “ab mazaa aayega saala” and the struggling Kangana and the handsome hulk did not let them down on any night for several nights.

Kangana was fortunate enough to get her first break in  “Gangster” which was also a film that raised all kinds of controversies because of the subject and the steamy hot scenes had to do if she had to continue with her struggle to conquer.

She was soon well on her way to success , she came up with strikingly realistic performances and she reached a new high when she did Madhur Bhandarkar’s “Fashion” in which she had tough competition from Priyanka Chopra, but she refused to surrender even if she had to do some very shocking scenes which very few actresses would dare to do and her tough work yielded good results when she won her first national award for the best supporting actress

She was now accepted as one of the better known actresses and was also considered for meaty roles in big films like one of the versions of the “Krish” franchise in which she dared to play a negative role and the film also marked her entry into the empire of bigger controversy makers and she continued being Ms controversy in many films that followed and she was always accompanied by her guide , her eldor sister Madam Controversy , there was no Kangana if there was no controversy.

But at the same time she excelled as an ace performer in films like “Queen” , “Tanu Weds Manu” and “Tanu Weds Manu Returns” , she won the national award for the best actress and it seemed like she had finally found her goal and would live without Madam Controversy now

But I was surprised when my friend, Ajay Acharya called me one evening from his office and asked me to watch an interview of Kangana and and what I heard Kangana say about her “affair” with Hrithik Roshan and the way she lambasted the industry for practicing nepotism and how she took on the might of the Khans and all the men in the industry who had got into the habit of using women like doormats made me and many others salute her for her brutal frankness which no other actress had shown in public till that evening which made her position as Ms Controversy stable and to be a part of her as long as she wanted, the results of that brutal interview were seen when none of the established actors and filmmakers showed their willingness to work with her.

She showed the first signs of what her rivals called dictatorship when she claimed the credit for the writing of “Simran”, a film from which she had great expectations , but the film fell flat on its face and Kangana knew thar she would have to do something more controversial to stay on in the race

She was cast as the Rani of Jhansi in “Manikarnika” and was hell –bent on doing all the action sequences herself and even give a new look to the Rani of Jhansi, far away from the way the Rani was shown in other films and documentaries and short films

There was silence for quite some time as the film was being shot in the interiors , but gradually things came out in the open , she had taken over the direction from a man called  Krish and was directing the film just the way she wanted which led to a lot of heart – burning among the task and a renowned actor like Sonu Sood who had almost completed his work on the film , walked out and said he had nothing to do with “Manikarnika” and there were others who could not be as brave and outspoken like him , but Kangana , the new director completed the film the way she wanted and the trailers are already talking about this new Rani of Jhansi and Ms Controversy doesn’t care what people say because she knows what she has made in her first official film as a director

And even before one could say #MeToo , Kangana jumped into the fray and played havoc with her “Queen” director , Vikas Bahl and made life miserable for him and got other men scared about her because by now they all knew how she could use her tongue like a sharp sword which could cut both ways and sometimes even kill

Kangana doesn’t have as many films as her talent deserved , there is only one film aptly called “Panga” and she is still very young and has all the fire in her which can burn or glow , it is still early to say how many fireworks she will set ablaze , but one can never expect a women of tomorrow to change today and change from the Ms Controversy to the Sati Savitri or Rama Bai of today , a kangana Ranaut comes down the hills only once in a way and no power or situation can succeed in sending her back to the hills , the latest talk about her is about her joining politics , but I think those who feel she can be a good choice to be a politician are talking nonsense because she is the kind of women who will and can make mincemeat of the most dangerous politicians , I can almost hear her scream “abhi se kya batayen kaunsi aag mere dil mein hai, waqt aane par aag aur doosro ke  daag dono ka waqt aayega aur main aise ladungi jaise aaj se pahle kisi aurat ne nahi lada hai, waqt aa gaya hai aurato ko awaaz uthani aur talwar uthane ki”
