WAQT KE SAATH BADALNAA KAAMIYAABI KAA EK JANAA HUAA RAAZ HAI, COVID KAAL MEIN SUBHASH GHAI NE APNI NAYI FILM KAA MUHURAT KIYAA

Whenever I think about Subhash Ghai ( and he has not given me any opportunity to forget him and I can never ever for forget him), I remember all his grand muhurats of his big as big can be films ,his star-lit parties and the way he celebrated every event associated with him and Mukta Arts , like very few filmmakers have except for the greatest ever showman Raj Kapoor - Ali Peter John

As the showman , Mr Ghai launches one more film , I am reminded of the countless launching ceremonies he has held to mark them out as events that are etched out in the minds of people and even history.

I was among the privileged ones who was a witness to his rise from a not so successful actor to a successful writer and to being a leading director and being the man and his heart and mind behind the success of Mukta Arts , his prolific production company , named after his wife , Mukta (she was Rehana before she married Subhash Ghai)

I remember all his muhurats , but the 2 I remember the most are "Ram-Lakhan" and "Devaa" ( the film with Amitabh Bachchan as Devaa however had to shelved ).

The launching of "Ram-Lakhan" is an event that anyone who was a part of can never forget however hard he or she may try.

Ghai had invited almost the entire industry of celebrities to the muhurat and had arranged for suites for every guests .

There was a party at the Faryas Hotel at Lonavala and it was a party the likes of which I have rarely attended. And rhe next morning Ram-Lakhan went on the floors with Anil Kapoor dancing his way to glory with the song, "aeji oji , mai hoon mann mauji, my name is Lakhan".

And on June 24, in these times when there is so much fear in the air, Subhash Ghai launched his knew film , "36 Firm House ", a film on which Ghai and his young team had been working all through the lockdown .

There were no big stars at this muhurat and the first shot was taken on a pretty new face called Barkha Singh , with the clapper board being sounded by a senior actress , Madhuri Bhatia and the camera was switched on by the showman himself.

The film is being directed by Ram Ramesh Sharma , who has earned the trust of the master-director.

All the main artists and the directors are new names and there is a good blend of some senior actors like Sanjay Mishra , Vijay Raaz and Aswini Kalsekar. To Subhash Ghai, who has introduced many other actors goes the credit of discovering one more young talent in Amol Parashar .

Akhilesh Chakraborty is the cinematographer of the film being made by Mukta Searchlight and Zee Studios.

The film is described as a comedy with a heavy dash of mystery . The shooting as already started in and around Lonavala , almost in rhe same locations where Ram-Lakhan was shot more than 30 years ago.

Everything and everyone who was associated with the making of Ram-Lakhan has changed .

Anil Kapoor(Lakhan) is a grandfather today , Jackie Shroff is the father of Tiger Shroff , Madhuri Dixit is the mother of grown up sons , Ryan and Arrin and Dimple Kapadia is the mother in law of Akshay Kumar , Laxmikant of the Laxmikant-Pyarelaal team and Anand Bakshi are no more a part of the world where they once ruled.

And many other artists , technicians , writers and even junior artists are no longer among the living .

But this man called Subhash Ghai who is now in his late 70's is still very much aware of the changes around him and in the industry, alert and very much in love with his work and life.

And if Covid is kind , SG as he is known among his close friends and on the campus of Whistling Woods International, his dream come true , he has three more scripts ready and he has plans to make the films based on these scripts as soon as possible because a restless spirit and a creative mind can not wait for long .
