What would you like to say about the serial “The Great Monk Swami Vivekananda”?
-See, every person is somewhat familiar with Swami Vivekananda. Something about him is also taught in schools. In the past, many films have been made on Vivekananda. But with the present generation, every person knows about Swami Vivekananda in detail. And want to tell in detail about the life and work of Guru Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. Very few people would know that this was not the real name of Swami Vivekananda. While reaching this name in childhood, his three names changed. Ultimately, the Maharaja of Kharidja in Rajasthan gave him the name 'Swami Vivekananda' along with the turban and dress that Swami Vivekananda always wore. All such unique factual information. We want to reach out to the people through this serial. This serial has a very important message for the young generation.
You also made films in the past, and now you are making such a huge serial?
-Yes! I have also made films. I have also sung songs. I learned a lot by handling the production. I always keep learning something new and doing new work. I believe that desire, passion, and compulsions make a person do everything. I was in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh in the nineties. I came to Mumbai from the state with the support of a straw. Since then, I have reached here by continuously struggling, learning something new, and gaining experience. Now, as a writer, director, and co-producer, I am making a big serial "The Great Monk Swami Vivekananda". I am making it. We have done a lot of shooting for it. This serial will go to at least three hundred episodes.
Are there any other people also associated with the production of this serial of yours?
-Yes! Kamal Mukut, AK Gupta, and Dr. Shalini Gupta ji are associated with us as producers in the production of this serial. All three are my well-wishers. I have worked with Kamal Mukut twelve years ago. This time he has made me his partner. I am thankful to them for this. I am also thankful to these people for the money they have invested in the production of 'The Great Monk Swami Vivekananda', a serial that is purposeful and gives an important message to the young generation.
When did it come to your mind that a serial on Swami Vivekananda should be made?
-You know that I have written, produced, and directed two films before this. I never made a serial and the truth is that I did not even want to make a serial. But Acharya Dr. Nagendra and Acharya Dr., who runs a Yoga Institute in Bangalore. Ravindra. I had gone to his place a few years ago when he gave me a book on Vivekananda and requested me to produce a serial on it. I read that book, but I did not find it very interesting. After that, he formed a team, of which I was made the head. Our entire team started research on Swami Vivekananda. As our research progressed, my interest in it increased. I myself read more than 500 books on Swami Vivekananda. Many surprising information came to light, then we started writing on it. We collected so much material that we realized that we could not do justice to this material or Vivekananda by making a film. Hence, we decided to make a serial on it.
You have included mostly new actors in this serial?
-Yes! This has been done deliberately. We do not want the audience to feel the pain of the previous character of the actor playing any character while watching the serial. Our aim is that the audience should see the character and not the artist. We have selected the highly talented actors suitable for the character by adopting the process of two years of rigorous audition etc. Till now, apart from Arun Bakshi, Krishna Jaiswal, and Piyush Suhane have been featured in our serial. , including Tanmay Pareek, and Kirti Adarkar are all budding bilingual artists.
