ED Raids Dino Morea’s Home in ₹65 Cr Mithi River Desilting Scam

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided Bollywood actor Dino Morea's home as part of an investigation into a ₹65 crore scam related to the Mithi River cleaning project

The raids were conducted at over 15 locations in Mumbai and Kerala, targeting individuals including BMC assistant engineer Prashant Ramugade and several contractors

Dino Morea has been questioned twice by the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) due to his alleged connections with the main accused, Ketan Kadam, through multiple phone calls

The investigation revealed that a scam was orchestrated by Ketan Kadam and Jai Joshi in collusion with officials from Matprop Technical Services Private Limited and the BMC's Storm Water Drains Department

The EOW has registered fraud cases against 13 individuals, including BMC officials and contractors, for their roles in the fraudulent river cleaning payments from 2007 to 2021

Investigators suspect that tender processes for dredging equipment were manipulated to benefit certain suppliers, leading to significant financial losses for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is examining the ₹1,100 crore expenditure on the Mithi river cleaning project from 2005 to 2021 to uncover financial irregularities

On the professional front, Dino Morea recently appeared in the Netflix series 'The Royals' and is currently in the news for his involvement in the movie 'Housefull 5', which released on June 6
