FIR Against Badshah: Rapper Booked for Allegedly Hurting Religious Sentiments

Rapper Badshah is facing legal trouble as a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against him by the Punjab Police for allegedly offending the Christian community with his new song, "Velvet Flow"

The complaint was lodged by Emmanuel Masih, representing the Global Christian Action Committee, who accused Badshah of using terms like 'church' and 'bible' in a disrespectful manner in the song's lyrics

The FIR was officially registered at the Kila Lal Singh police station on April 29, 2025, under sections of the Indian Justice Code that address the hurting of religious sentiments

Alongside the legal action, a protest was held in Batala, Gurdaspur district, where demonstrators claimed Badshah insulted religious symbols for commercial gain and demanded appropriate action

Badshah has not yet responded to the allegations or the ongoing controversy surrounding the song

"Velvet Flow," released on April 11, 2025, features Badshah's vocals and lyrics, with music composed by Hiten The music video showcases Badshah in various settings, including traveling and working out, and has garnered over 800,000 views on YouTube.

Badshah rose to fame with his 2018 debut song "DJ Waley Babu," which quickly topped the Indian iTunes charts He is a well-known figure in the Bollywood music scene, contributing to films like "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" and "Sultan."
