The case originated from a complaint by a Hyderabad-based doctor who alleges to have paid ₹348 lakh for non-existent plots marketed by Sai Surya Developers, which Mahesh Babu endorsed.

This is not the first time Mahesh Babu's name has been associated with this controversy The Enforcement Directorate (ED) previously summoned him in April 2024 concerning a money laundering investigation linked to Sai Surya Developers.

The central issue revolves around the “Green Meadows” project, which failed to deliver the promised plots Mahesh Babu served as the brand ambassador and allegedly received significant payments for his endorsement.

Sources close to the ED indicate that Mahesh Babu is not considered a primary suspect and may have been unaware of the fraudulent activities when he promoted the project However, his repeated involvement could harm his reputation.
