National Union of Journalists India's National Vice President Shri S Kumar felicitated Shri Ramakant Munde

The National Union of Journalists India (NUJI) held a special meeting in Mumbai, chaired by Hansraj Kanojia, to discuss the challenges faced by journalists in Maharashtra

Shri S Kumar, the National Vice President of NUJI, highlighted the organization's 53-year history of advocating for journalists' rights and security, emphasizing the current financial struggles and job scarcity among journalists

S Kumar pointed out that the number of journalists in media institutions is decreasing, leading to financial instability, with many being forced to work for smaller banners

Maharashtra Women Media Cell President, Mrs Sanjana Gandhi Bharti, declared a firm stance against atrocities on women journalists and pledged to intensify efforts to seek justice.

The meeting was attended by various key figures, including Raju Gharat, Mrs Sharwari Joshi, Baba Londhe, and renowned Bollywood press photographer Ramakant Munde, who was honored at the event.

Hansraj Kanojia expressed a commitment to strengthening the journalist organization across Maharashtra, aiming to address educational and health issues faced by journalists' families

Kanojia also highlighted the challenge of journalists lacking formal degrees, despite having the necessary qualifications, which affects their ability to secure jobs

Efforts will be made to implement a government pension scheme, providing a monthly allowance of Rs 20,000 to senior journalists aged 60 and above
