People’s mindset still hasn’t changed – Kriti Kharbanda

Kriti Kharbanda, known for her roles in Bollywood films like "Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana" and "Housefull 4," is set to make her OTT debut with "Rana Naidu 2" on Netflix

In a recent interview, Kriti discussed her connection with her character Aalia Oberoi, who, like her, faces challenges in a male-dominated industry

Kriti expressed her frustration with the continued gender bias in the film industry, noting that while there have been changes in guidelines and organizations, the underlying mentality remains largely unchanged

She shared personal advice from her mother about prioritizing self-respect over uncomfortable professional situations, highlighting the importance of leaving jobs where women are disrespected

Kriti also addressed the issue of high actor fees, responding to criticisms from filmmakers like Karan Johar and Anurag Kashyap, urging them to be upfront about budget concerns during casting rather than after a film flops

She emphasized that actors of her generation are conscious of not overshooting budgets, and criticized the tendency to blame actors for a film's failure post-release

Kriti highlighted that while the approach in the industry has evolved, there is still a long way to go in changing the intent and mindset towards women

Despite the challenges, Kriti remains resilient and determined, drawing strength from her personal journey and experiences in the industry

"Rana Naidu 2," featuring Kriti Kharbanda, is set to release on Netflix on June 13, 2025
