Vijay Arora Death Anniversary: Actor Immortalised by 110 Films and Ramayana’s Indrajit

Vijay Arora was a celebrated Indian actor known for his work in Hindi films and television serials, immortalized by his roles in over 110 films and more than 500 TV episodes

Born on December 27, 1944, Arora gained fame for his portrayal of Meghnad/Indrajit in the iconic TV serial "Ramayana" and the film "Yaadon Ki Baaraat," where he starred alongside Zeenat Aman

A gold medalist graduate from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in 1971, Arora made his film debut in 1972 with "Zaroorat" and quickly rose to prominence with his performance in "Yaadon Ki Baaraat"

Over the years, he starred in numerous popular films, including "Kadambari," "Insaaf," "36 Ghante," "Naatak," and "Roti," and took on lead roles in movies like "Sabse Bada Sukh" and "Jeevan Jyoti"

In the late 1980s, Arora made a remarkable comeback to television, further cementing his legacy with roles in series like "Bharat Ek Khoj" and "Pradhanmantri"

Besides Hindi cinema, Arora also contributed to Gujarati films, notably "Raja Harishchandra," and was active in both Hindi and Gujarati theatre

Arora was married to Dilbar Debara, a former model and Miss India, and they had a son named Farhad He passed away on February 2, 2007, due to a stomach ailment.
