What did Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra say about his upcoming film UT69?

Bollywood heroine Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra has been embroiled in controversy for the last two years. Raj Kundra, who was roaming around in a mask for two years, took off his mask at the trailer launch of his film. Raj Kundra has made a film on his days spent in Arthur Road Jail, which he has named UT69 and the special thing is that Raj Kundra himself is playing his character in the film.

Question- What kind of response has been received after the trailer launch?

Shahnawaz- Have received good compliments. We have heard from many people that they have never seen a prison like this before, they were not expecting this at all, and they thought it would be a soft story but it was not what they had expected.

Raj- Troller's job is to troll and that will keep happening. They thought that this film was made to clean the image, but there is no talk about the case anywhere in it. This is just the story of the 63 days that I spent in Arthur Road Jail. Many people have heard about Arthur Road Jail, so we have recreated a jail only, and what and how happens there will be seen in the film.

Question- After the launch of the trailer, the Question on social media is that if you are financially strong, then you too had to endure all this in jail.

Raj- When you make something based on a true story then you have to provide a lot of evidence which we have given. It doesn't matter whether you are financially strong or not, they treat you the same. And I was not expecting any privilege, I was ready to live like everyone else but I was expecting a basic necessity. The message of the film is that those who are in that jail are accused, their allegations have not been proven yet, and they also deserve basic necessities.

Question: Making a film on a controversial subject, how did you convince others of the film?

Shahnawaz- We have not said anything controversial in the film. This was not difficult because we have not shown any point of the case in the film, because the case is still going on. Law is the same for everyone, and if you go inside jail then you have to follow the rules there. Initially, Raj had to write a book and then when the idea of a film came up, it was a bit difficult to relive all those moments.

Question- You are playing your own character in your film, so what is the reason behind this?

Raj- I initially wanted to write a book but then Shahnawaz convinced me that the film was a good idea and I agreed. Shahnawaz said that if you want to show real emotions in the film then you will have to work. And if people want to tell what happened to Raj Kundra, then they use Raj Kundra in the film. And this has never happened before so something will be different with the film.

Question- What was Shilpa's reaction when she came to know that you yourself were going to work on your film?

Raj- She said that when the film is made, she will watch it first if there is anything controversial in it then the film will not be released, but when she saw the film after it was made, she liked it very much.

Question- How was your relationship with each other as an actor and director?

Raj- I tell everyone that this is a single hero movie and the hero of that movie is not me but the director of the film.

Shahnawaz- We enjoyed it a lot. Raj is very hardworking and professional. Looking at him it doesn't seem like he has never acted before.

Question- How was that period of meeting people inside the jail and living with them?

Raj- The film itself is made on that thing, you will get to see it in the film.

Question- Is there any scene in the film that was difficult for you to do because it reminded you of the past?

Raj- There was a scene where I talked to Shilpa after ten days, and it had never happened that I did not talk to her for ten days. I cried during the scene, which also happened in real life. That one scene was difficult for me.

Question- If you faced any difficulty during the shooting, would you like to share something like that?

Shahnawaz- There was no such problem. We shot the entire film in nineteen days. We used to shoot hard days, sixteen hours a day. It was a bit challenging that the film would not be allowed to come out until it was completely made.

Question- You are presenting the phase of your life in front of people in the form of a film, what was your motive behind this?

Raj- There was no such motive, I was just writing about every day spent there, I had to write a book on it. The idea of the film came suddenly and Shahnawaz also came up with it. I myself had written my notes in a somewhat funny manner, and when he made the script, he took it to a different level.

Question- As you said on the day of your trailer launch after coming out, you are also helping the people in jail, so where did you get the idea of this?

Raj- From the people around me with whom I talked a little, I came to know that he has been here for a long time, his bail has come but he does not have any family or lawyer outside who can pay his money and get him out. So when I came out I tried to help them as much as I could.

Question- Any special thing about this project that you would like to tell?

Raj- This is very close to our heart. If you forget everything and go to watch the film and just focus on the content, then you will like the film.

Shahnawaz- The film is very simple and entertaining.

Question- Would you like to share some memories about Mayapuri Magazine?

Raj- I always used to watch Mayapuri with Shilpa, she told me that it is a Bollywood magazine, and it has been in our house for many years. Many congratulations to you on 50 years of your magazine.

Shahnawaz- My mother used to read Mayapuri, and she used to save that magazine. Smita Patil was her favorite actress, so whatever picture of her was there, she used to keep it very carefully. Many congratulations to you on 50 years of your magazine.

Shahnawaz- Go to the theater on 3rd November and watch the movie UT69, we promise you will enjoy watching the movie.
