What is Manoj Kumar’s view on SRK’s Pathaan?

The veteran actor -Editor-Writer-lyricist-producer and director Manoj Kumar has been conferred with an award by the Pune Film Foundation  as well as the Maharashtra Government  for his outstanding contribution to Indian Cinema at the hands of both The Honorable Cultural Minister of Maharashtra Shri Sudhir Mungatiwar, Shri Avinash Dhanke. Director of Film City and  Dr Jabbar Patel, The Chairman as well as The Director of Pune International Film Festival  yesterday evening at the veteran actor’s house in Juhu Mumbai.  

When he asked me about how the film Pathaan has fared at the box officeI told the actor who I have known for the last 45 years on a personal level that it does not even boast of a tangible story, he laughed it off and stated that what matters is whether a film sets out to entertain and not whether it has a story or not and went on to to say that though Gulab Jamun is a sweet, it does not contain gulab in it.

Manojsaab added that he had stopped watching new Hindi films for the last 12 years and the last film that he had watched was 3 Idiots. “These days , I am only watching old Hindi films in Black & White. That is my only form of entertainment as I am not feeling well with my back not supporting me 24 hours”
